Which BVI Bars Are Still Open?
Which BVI bars are still open? Of the 24 places we checked, 20 are open, 3 we could not confirm still trade, and 1 is gone, Bomba's Surfside Shack. Of the 20 open, 16 have dated 2026 evidence, including Foxy's Tamarind Bar, The Willy T, Saba Rock and CocoMaya. The other 4 only have 2025 evidence: Hendo's Hideout, Foxy's Taboo, Pirate's Bight and Anegada Reef Hotel.
How We Checked the Bars
We checked on 20 October 2026 using dated sources from 2025 and 2026. The table gives each place's newest source date. Reopening years are background, they do not prove a place is trading today. Irma was in September 2017, nine years ago. A bar on its summer break is open, the staff are on their annual holiday. Nothing here tells us what will be open in April 2027, so ring before you sail.

Open means still trading. Summer Break is the annual hurricane-season holiday when the staff go on holiday; the bar is not closed. Last Evidence is the date of the newest source we found, with the month where we have one. Ring before you sail.
1.Jost Van Dyke
Great Harbour and White Bay
Foxy's Tamarind Bar has been in Great Harbour since 1968. Its Facebook page says the 2026-27 season is open. Its Old Year's Night event page lists 31 December 2026. Foxy's is open and trading.
Soggy Dollar in White Bay is open too. Its summer break began on 26 August, with a return planned for 7 October 2026. We have not seen a dated report confirming it is back from that break, so ring before going. Sandcastle's six accommodations reopened on 15 May 2023 after years without guests following Irma, and take the same summer break as the bar.
Hendo's Hideout opened in 2022. In 2025 it took its summer break in early September, then traded at weekends until 1 October. A July 2025 list gave Foxy's Taboo at Diamond Cay a provisional summer break of 1 August to 15 October. We found no 2026 dates for either, so the table carries their 2025 information.
2.Norman, Peter and Cooper Islands
Boats, Bays and Summer Breaks
The Willy T is in The Bight on Norman Island. The current, larger floating bar has been back there since 2019, and reviews from January, April, September and October 2026 confirm people are visiting. The reviews disagree about jumping from the top deck. Ask the staff before you jump.
Pirate's Bight was open through July in 2025, and a July 2025 list showed it reopening in October. We found no 2026 date. Peter Island Resort reopened in December 2024.
Cooper Island Beach Club and Rum Bar in Manchioneel Bay is on its summer break now, with a return on 1 November 2026. It has a rum list, its own brewery and moorings in the bay.
3.Virgin Gorda and North Sound
Rebuilt North Sound Stops
Saba Rock reopened in October 2021 after a rebuild. A June 2026 review gives us more recent evidence that it is trading. Tarpon feeding is at 5pm. The summer-break dates in the table are from 2025.
Bitter End Yacht Club has been rebuilt and has 2026 reviews. Its Quarterdeck marina has 70 mooring balls. Its summer-break dates are also from 2025, so use them as last year's information.
CocoMaya in Spanish Town was listed in the February 2026 Taste of Virgin Gorda event. It traded at weekends only during the quiet season in 2025. Check before going, particularly if you are planning a weekday visit.
4.Tortola and Marina Cay
New Names and Summer Breaks
Pusser's pub in Road Town has Tripadvisor reviews from January and May 2026. Callwood Rum Distillery in Cane Garden Bay is a working distillery with 2026 reviews, but does not open on Sundays. Rhythm and Sands took over from Quito's Gazebo under a new operator in October 2024 and opened that November. We found nothing newer, so its current position is unconfirmed.
Marina Cay Bar and Grill reopened in summer 2023 and is run by Scrub Island. It is no longer a Pusser's. It is on its summer break now, and its own site gives November 2026 as the return.
A charter company's post of 10 September 2026 describes the Trellis Bay full-moon party on Beef Island as running. If you are sailing between 17 and 28 April 2027, the only full moon in that period is Tuesday 20 April. Confirm the party date with the venue before building your route around it.
5.Anegada
Beach Bars and Lobster Stops
Caribbean Journal reported Cow Wreck Beach Bar operating in February and June 2026. It is on the north shore, but visiting boats stay on the south shore because of the reef. Take a taxi from Setting Point.
The June 2026 piece also names Anegada Beach Club and Big Bamboo, and Potter's by the Sea at Setting Point. The piece mentions Potter's grilled lobster.
Anegada Reef Hotel was listed as open all summer in 2025. Lobster Trap and Wonky Dog took summer breaks from August into October or mid-October that year. Those are 2025 dates, they do not give us their 2026 arrangements.
6.Gone or Unconfirmed
Ring Before Making Plans
Bomba's Surfside Shack in Cappoons Bay is gone. It was destroyed by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and Tripadvisor still lists it as permanently closed. MarineMax reported on 11 June 2026 that it was not hosting parties and that land disputes left its future uncertain.
Sidney's Peace and Love was reported operating in 2018, with boaters asked to call ahead. Caribbean Journal called it longstanding on 9 October 2026, but that does not confirm it is trading. Sources also disagree about which bay it is in. One Love Bar and Grill in White Bay reopened in 2018. A March 2024 review reported it was not trading because of a family and estate dispute, while a July 2025 review suggests it was trading.
Rhythm and Sands has nothing newer than November 2024. We could not confirm whether these three places still exist or trade. Ring Sidney's, One Love and Rhythm and Sands before making plans. Their position is unconfirmed, which is different from a bar taking its summer break.
