Vodice, Croatia

Day 1: Split (Marina Kastela) → Vodice → Šibenik (36 NM)

Vodice is a tourist center which is known for its age and the tradition it has. We start our Split Sailing Itinerary with Vodice because it has received "The Tourism Flower Award" due to its attractiveness to visitors. There are many churches and beautiful sights to see. You have to visit the church of Karmela and the church of the Holy Cross with its bell tower. It's also an island full of sports activities such as scuba diving, fitness in the sea, cycling, beach volleyball.

Šibenik is also a city known for its tradition and its cultural heritage. It's the oldest self-settled city in Croatia. Šibenik is an ideal destination during summer because of the summer festivals which take place every year during that period. You should also visit the monuments, the city walls and the church, which are the most characteristic buildings in the city.

Things to Do:

Kornati National Park, Croatia

Day 2: Šibenik → Kornati → Telašćica (33 NM)

On our alternative Split Sailing Itinerary to the North Dalmatian Coast, we want to encourage you to visit the Kornati Islands with the National Park and the Nature Park of Telašćica, which is only a few nautical miles away. Both of them are known worldwide for their magnificent natural beauty. In the parks, you will have the opportunity to see species of fauna and flora, hidden caves and beautiful waterfalls.

Things to Do:

Telašćica Nature Park, Croatia

Day 3: Telašćica → Iž → Ugljan → Zadar (17 NM)

On day 3 of our Split Sailing Itinerary, we suggest visiting Iž. It is an island separated in two little villages, Veli Iž and Mali Iž. The whole island is surrounded by olive gardens, fig trees, and vegetable plantations. Iž is well known for its long fishing tradition. What's remarkable about Veli Iž is the pottery art that bloomed and was developed by the citizens of the village.

Another separated island is the Ugljan. Half of the island is covered with olive trees, fig trees, vineyards, dense bush, pine trees and other Mediterranean plantation, so it is called green part. The other half is stony and desolated. The island is connected with the fishing activity either.

End the day of your Split Sailing Itinerary in Zadar, also known as the southern Dubrovnik. Beautiful beaches, colourful sunrisings, history and always full of people. Zadar is home to around 70,000 people and it's a joy to explore. In Zadar, you will experience something completely different. Its construction has taken place in the harbour area. Some stone steps immersed in the water. These have underwater pipes in them that sound musical notes when filled with water. This construction creates a harmonica effect that sounds as if each wave is gently sighing. This is called "The Sea Organ" and "Greeting to the Sun".

Zadar has also a dramatic hinterland to explore; three national parks - Paklenica, Plitvice Lakes and Krka.

Things to Do:

Sea Organ, Zadar, Croatia

Day 4: Zadar → Pašman → Murter (24 NM)

Pašman is another little paradise in Zadar Archipelago. It has almost 12 villages and the mainland is separated by the Pašman channel. What makes Pašman interesting and different from the other islands is that due to the sea current that constantly changes, (every six hours) its waters are considered to be among the cleanest waters in the Adriatic.

Murter is the next island of Split Sailing Itinerary to the North Dalmatia that we propose to you. It is located in the northwest of both the Šibenik archipelago and the Šibenik county. Murter is connected to the mainland by a bridge. The Island Murter is famous for its sandy and gravel beaches, such as Slanica, Kosirina, Čigrađa, Podvršak, Lovišća. There is also a large number of small bays hidden from the large beaches.

Things to Do:

Pašman Island, Croatia

Day 5: Murter → Žirje → Rogoznica (25.5 NM)

Žirje island is the furthest and the largest island in the Šibenik archipelago. It is known for its stony beaches like Stupica and Koromačna, which are seafarer destinations, the large fishing area, the natural beauty and the blue waters. Žirje is the perfect destination for a peaceful and relaxing vacation away from the city noise.

Rogoznica is another Mediterranean town connected to the mainland by an artificial mound. Most of the island is covered by forest and trees. Rogoznica, despite its size, has lots of monuments that must be seen. such as the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Heaven, the "Dragon's Eye" salt-water lake, which was created after the last ice age. Also, make sure to attend one of the festivals which take place in almost every Dalmatian town, which are called "Fishermen's Night".

Things to Do:

Day 6: Rogoznica → Drvenik Veli → Trogir (16 NM)

Trogir, Croatia

Day 7: Trogir → Šolta → Split (Marina Kastela) (20 NM)

We couldn't exclude Trogir from our Split Sailing Itinerary, which is one of the oldest cities in Croatia. It is an ideal and relaxing destination to spend some moments with the family and take some rest. In summer, despite the city is relatively quiet during the day, when the night comes, the city floods by a mysterious and romantic essence.

Šolta is the ideal final stop for our Split Sailing itinerary, where you can relax and come closer to the Croatian landscape. It is small and ideal for walking and cycling. Main attractions are the half-forgotten, Kasbah-like villages of the interior and the two picturesque harbour villages of Maslinica and Stomorska.
