Phuket and PhangNga Bay, in the Andaman Sea, are among the most beautiful sailing areas in the world: hundreds of idyllic islands with pristine beaches, crystal-clear water and spectacular limestone rocks. On a cabin charter you sail them by the week while an experienced crew looks after everything on board.
1.One Of The World's Finest Sailing Areas
Discover the famous PhangNga Bay from Phuket. Phuket Island lies in the south of Thailand in the Andaman Sea, one of the most beautiful sailing areas in the world, with hundreds of idyllic islands, pristine beaches and crystal-clear water. The spectacular PhangNga Bay, with its amazing limestone rocks, became famous through the James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun.
You will be pampered by the crew while you discover its unspoilt beauty.
2.Its Name
The island of Phuket has long been misunderstood. First, the h is silent. And second, Phuket does not feel like an island at all. It is so huge, the biggest in Thailand, that you rarely get the sense that you are surrounded by water, which is probably the reason why Ko, meaning island, was dropped from its name. Dubbed the pearl of the Andaman by marketing execs, this is Thailand's original flavour of tailor-made fun in the sun.
3.Patong And Activities
The island's lively town of Patong is the biggest town and the busiest beach. But ultimately, Phuket's affinity for luxury far outshines its other stereotypes. Jet-setters come through in droves, getting pampered during swanky spa sessions and swigging sundowners at one of the many fashion-forward nightspots or on their rented yacht. And you do not have to be an heiress to tap into Phuket's trendy to-do list: deep-sea diving, high-end dining and white beaches are all within reach.
4.A Cabin Charter With An Experienced Crew
Snorkel or dive on the many reefs Phuket has to offer and discover the wonders of its underwater world. Scuba diving can be arranged on the spot with local diving clubs.
Our partners' yachts provide comfortable double cabins each with a private bathroom, delicious food and dedicated service from the crew. The deck is the perfect place to relax, watch the world go by with a long, cooling cocktail and take in the sunset and the ocean breeze. The cook offers a different menu each day, with fresh fruit, fresh fish and meats turned into mouth-watering meals.
There is also an optional excursion package: dinner on the beach, an elephant trek and massage, a kayak ride, and a long-tail boat tour to James Bond Island and the Gypsy Village.
5.Itinerary, Day By Day
A sample week from the base at Yacht Haven, out through PhangNga Bay and the Phi Phi islands and back. Times and stops depend on the weather.
- Day 1, Yacht Haven to Koh Nakha Yai. Arrive in Phuket and join the base at Yacht Haven, north of the island. On the way from the airport you get a first view of the area's lush vegetation, dotted with Buddhist temples and picturesque villages. Board at 17:00, settle into your cabin, then a safety briefing and a run through the programme before departing for Koh Nakha Yai. Its lovely beach fringed with coconut trees welcomes your first idyllic swim, and you enjoy a beautiful sunset over the islands of PhangNga Bay. Dinner and a night at anchor.
- Day 2, Koh Kai Nai to Koh Phi Phi Don. After breakfast, set sail to Koh Kai Nai for lunch and a wonderful beach ringed by a coral reef rich in underwater life, a dream for snorkellers. Then on to Koh Phi Phi Don, one of the most beautiful islands in the world, arriving in Yongkasem Bay, the bay of monkeys, for swimming, snorkelling and beachcombing. Cross the bay to anchor off Nui Bay for the sunset. Dinner and a night at anchor. In strong western winds, from May to October, you moor instead on the secluded eastern coast of Phi Phi.
- Day 3, Koh Phi Phi Ley. After an early breakfast, sail to Koh Phi Phi Ley and Maya Bay, where the film The Beach was shot with Leonardo DiCaprio. Sailing round the island you discover the cliffs and caves where swallows' nests are harvested for export to China. Back to Koh Phi Phi Don late morning, moor at Ton Sai Bay and lunch on board. Go shopping, explore the island, and take the 30-minute walk to the belvedere for a beautiful panorama. Dinner on the beach, a seafood buffet, then an evening ashore for the fire shows and the festive spirit of Phi Phi.
- Day 4, Bamboo Island to Chicken Island. After breakfast, sail to Koh Mai Phai, also known as Bamboo Island, a beautiful sandy beach with snorkelling on a reef teeming with fish. After lunch on board, head to Koh Dam Kai, or Chicken Island, for swimming and snorkelling as if inside an aquarium, and relaxation on an idyllic beach shaded by filaos. At low tide you can walk from one island to the other along a sandbank.
- Day 5, Ao Nang and Koh Hong. After breakfast, sail to Ao Nang for an elephant trek and massage and lunch, then on to Koh Hong East to explore its splendid internal lagoon by tender, a natural swimming pool ringed by high cliffs. Sail to the Pakbia group of islands for the night, with dinner at anchor.
- Day 6, Ao Thalin to Koh Yang. A short sail from Pakbia to the estuary of Ao Thalin for a kayak ride. After lunch on board, sail early afternoon to Koh Chong Lat Canyon, a breathtaking landscape whose waters are famous for a colony of sea otters, then on to Koh Yang in the magical setting of PhangNga Bay. Dinner and a night at anchor.
- Day 7, James Bond Island to Koh Nakha Noi. After breakfast, visit Koh Phing Kan by long-tail boat, better known as James Bond Island from The Man with the Golden Gun, and Koh Pan Yi, a giant floating village on stilts inhabited by more than a hundred fishing families, where you can buy local handicrafts. Back on board for lunch, then sail to the Koh Hong lagoon, reached only by dinghy through a cave to an inland lake ringed by cliffs at least 100 m high (in Thai, hong means room). Mid-afternoon, sail to Koh Nakha Noi for a final swim and relaxation on the beach. Dinner and a night at anchor.
- Day 8, Koh Nakha Noi to Yacht Haven. Breakfast is served as you sail to Yacht Haven Marina, where you disembark at 09:00.

6.Prices
Prices are per person in a shared double cabin and depend on the period and the cabin. As a guide:
- July and August: from €1,080
- September and October: from €900
- November: from €1,200
- December: €1,200 to €1,450
