About this yacht STALCA is a historic yacht bound to the principality of Monaco.
STALCA is a historic yacht bound to the principality of Monaco. Ordered to the Dutch shipyard Visch Holland, STALCA was launched in 1971 for the Prince Rainier III and his wife, Princess Grace of Monaco. The name is derived from the family members of the royalty and the first two letters of their children surname: STephanie, ALbert and CAroline.

STALCA has been undergoing several refits since her launch while keeping her exterior true to original design. In 2017, the yacht had a refit that included a full rework of the wiring, plumbing and MCA Safety Standards’ compliance for her future charter activity.

  • Captain Mark WorthingtonMark joined Stalca at the beginning of 2018 as she was emerging from her 18month refit. As a commercially endorsed Yacht Master 200gt unlimited, engineer, instructor and Divemaster he is a talented captain, excited about his new position and vessel. As well as being passionate about being on the water, he also loves cooking, motorcycling, travel; exploring new places, cultures and particularly cuisine, he will go out of his way to make your holiday an experience to remember. Mark’s previous rolls have been on both sailing and power boats and on both sides of the Atlantic. Mark went to school in Chester but has been on the move most of his life, spending 8 years in Scotland before moving on to yachts. His partner lives ashore and is a yoga instructor.
  • Chef & Stewardess Tracey HarkerTracey is a creative perfectionist, her enthusiasm shines through in everything she does. Before joining Stalca this Spring she had previously been onboard for a few weeks during the refit she described Stalca as having an incomparable romanticism that truly intrigued her so was thrilled to make the short list. Previous roles have seen her specialise in Israeli cuisine, traditional foods, pescatarian and for the crew; healthy and nutritious food including protein bowls and homemade muesli. Tracey enjoys a challenge and whatever you require she will enjoy preparing, she enjoys learning new techniques and menus. Previous to her move to Europe, Tracey studied at university and was also a Maths tutor. She really seems to excel at everything you puts her mind to. As well as all things food, Tracey enjoys travelling, photography, yoga, water sports and staying active.
  • Deckhand & Stewardess Charlotte FortuneCharly is passionate about healthy eating & nutrition to assist her running & yoga practice. Charly is RYA Dayskipper, PADI Divemaster, a qualified yoga teacher and loves running and the outdoors. Charly is very sporty and as well as being a keen runner and yoga practitioner she’s tried; SUP Yoga, windsurfing, water skiing, kayaking, road cycling, duathlon, hill walking, skiing, snowboarding & rock climbing. Charlie has stepped in last minute to complete the team.

Does STALCA come with a crew?
STALCA is chartered fully crewed. Your captain and crew handle the sailing, provisioning, and itinerary, so no sailing licence or experience is required from you or your guests.
What experience do we need to charter STALCA?
None. This is a fully crewed charter: the professional crew run the yacht, so no licence, certificate, or prior sailing experience is needed. Tell us what you want from the week and the crew plan around it.
What's included in the charter price?
The charter fee covers the yacht, standard equipment, and insurance for the dates booked. Tourist tax, transit log (final cleaning + bed linen), fuel, food, marina fees during the trip, and any optional extras (skipper, paddle board, etc.) are normally extra and paid at the base.
What additional costs should I expect at the base?
Typical mandatory extras are the transit log (often €200–€350), tourist tax (a small per-person-per-day fee), and a refundable security deposit (often €1,500–€5,000 depending on the yacht). Optional extras like a skipper, hostess, paddle board, or early check-in are listed on the quote.
How does the security deposit work?

What happens if there's bad weather on the day?
For day-to-day weather you'll plan the week to avoid the worst — the Adriatic and Aegean have very predictable wind patterns. If a serious storm makes the start-day handover impossible, the operator delays check-in until conditions improve and refunds any lost days. The yacht itself is insured against weather damage, so you're not exposed.
Can I hold this yacht while I decide?
