## General

Breakthrough is a 118.8-metre motor [yacht](/what-is-a-yacht/) built by the Dutch shipyard Feadship and delivered in May 2025. Constructed at Feadship's yards in Aalsmeer and Kaag in the Netherlands, she is the largest yacht the shipyard has ever produced and, at the time of her launch, the biggest yacht ever completed in the Netherlands. She was built under yard number 821 and carries a gross tonnage of 7,247 GT across five decks above the waterline and two below. Naval architecture is by De Voogt Naval Architects, and both the exterior and interior design are by British studio RWD, also known as Redman Whiteley Dixon. Her hull is steel and her superstructure aluminium, with a teak deck. She is classed by Lloyd's Register.

Breakthrough is a multi-award-winning vessel, having accumulated seven industry awards between 2025 and 2026, including Motor Yacht of the Year and Displacement Motor Yacht of the Year at the 2026 World Superyacht Awards, as well as Best Interior Design and Best Naval Architecture at the 2026 Boat International Design and Innovation Awards.

### Propulsion and sustainability

Breakthrough is the world's first superyacht to integrate a fully operational hydrogen fuel cell system for hotel load. A cryogenic storage tank holds 92 cubic metres of liquid hydrogen, enabling zero-emission cruising at up to 10 knots and allowing the yacht to remain emission-free at anchor for up to a week at a time. For longer passages, three MTU generators are fitted with the capability to burn methanol and hydrotreated vegetable oil as lower-carbon alternatives to conventional marine fuel. The hybrid diesel-electric drivetrain is complemented by two 3,200 kW ABB pod drives, giving a top speed of 17 knots and a maximum range of approximately 6,500 nautical miles. Breakthrough is managed for charter exclusively through Edmiston.

## Accommodation & Crew

Breakthrough is a fully crewed charter yacht. Guests do not sail or operate the vessel themselves; a professional crew of up to 46 attends to all aspects of seamanship and on-board service throughout the charter.

The yacht accommodates up to 12 charter guests in 15 cabins arranged across several decks. The layout comprises a master suite, four VIP cabins, and six double cabins, with four cabins convertible to alternative configurations. The master suite is appointed with its own study, dressing room, and separate his-and-her bathrooms. The owner's apartment, which occupies a full private deck, includes two bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom and dressing room, two offices each with a fireplace, a dedicated gym, and a living room.

Among the principal guest amenities are an 8.2-metre infinity pool with a movable glass floor that can be raised or lowered to connect to the beach club below, a custom jacuzzi, a submerged Nemo lounge offering underwater views from within the beach club, a spa, a gym, a library, a certified helipad on the foredeck, fold-out hull balconies, a sundeck with forward jacuzzi and shaded dining, and an elevator serving the full height of the vessel. The hull features fourteen balconies and seven fold-down platforms in total.

## Location

Breakthrough operates on the global charter market and her range of 6,500 nautical miles allows her to reach destinations worldwide. She cruises the Mediterranean, with reported availability across areas including the French Riviera, the Amalfi Coast, and the Greek islands, and she accepts bookings for the Caribbean during the winter season. Charter rates are from {price_from} per week, plus [APA](/advanced-provisioning-allowance-apa/) and applicable local taxes, which are presented in full with no hidden additions.

Broker DescriptionAbout this yachtDescription supplied by the yacht's central agent

Launched in 2025 by Feadship, this 119m superyacht represents a new chapter in yachting. A milestone in engineering innovation, she loses none of the luxury expected of a vessel at this level. Her commanding profile, drawn by British studio RWD, stretches across a 19m beam and five decks above the waterline, with two further decks below.

Her design is equally ambitious. Fold-out balconies, a glass-floored infinity pool, a submerged Nemo lounge, and a private owner's apartment spanning multiple decks all contribute to an interior and exterior experience that sits at the very top of contemporary yacht design. By any measure, she is among the finest yachts ever built.
