- A Catamaran is a sailing vessel with a hull structure of two or more hulls. Catamarans can either have the same or different hulls, with structural differences between them. A catamaran is defined by its spar and keel shape. It came from the Tamil word kattumaram, which means logs bound together. Catamarans provide room and comfort, known for their versatility and stability because they are easy to keep upright on the water.
