The itinerary begins in the unique and beautiful town of Gocek, with places to explore on the water and onshore, including markets where you can buy gifts and sample delicious Turkish cuisine.
Our Guide to Gocek Sailing Itinerary
Gocek is a high class sailing resort with 5 superb marinas and 3 resorts. The town is surrounded by 12 beautiful islands, each with their own unique features (many include mountains, hills, coves and plenty more unique things to explore). Gocek is located within a National Park with forest pines and low houses that offer breathtaking views out into the ocean.

Getting There
The easiest and quickest way to get to Gocek to begin our Gocek Sailing Itinerary is by plane. The closest airport to Gocek is Dalaman International Airport, which has regular flights from all over Europe, including the UK, Germany and Turkey. The airport has a cheap and easy shuttle service to the town, which is approximately 11 miles (30 minutes) to the starting point of our Gocek Sailing Itinerary.ย

In the summer months the temperature averages 34 degrees celsius and in the winter months the average is 14 degrees celsius, providing the perfect temperature and sunshine to complete our Gocek Sailing Itinerary.ย

Mooring
Gocek has a small number of marinas many of which are world class standard. Although this is true a large number of the islands and local areas do not have moorings available so ocean anchorage is recommended.

Explore the Turkish Coastline With Our 7-day Itinerary
Day 1
Gocek
Our Gocek Sailing Itinerary starts in the beautiful town of Gocek. Gocek is the ideal sailing town with world class marinas, along with coves and islands to explore. Each and every Sunday the town has a traditional Sunday market which is the ideal place to pick up supplies for the upcoming trip. Gocek is famous in Turkey for growing lemons, oranges, tangerines and bananas, and the restaurants and stores offer fantastic juices and products.
Recommended Activities:ย Shopping, restaurants and bars.
Day 2
Gocek โ Kapi Creek 8NM
Day two of our Gocek Sailing Itinerary takes us to the beautiful Kapi Creek and its Greek, Roman and Byzantine influences and ancient ruins. Kapi Creek’s ancient ruins are great to explore and purchase souvenirs from, but you can also discover the olive groves, restaurants, coves, swimming locations and rolling hills.
A great place to drop anchor for the night is adjacent to Merdivenli Cove, next to the restaurant’s dock.
Recommended Activities: Swimming, hiking,ย exploring the village andย ancient ruins.
Day 3
Kapi Creek โ Ekincik Limani 26NM
On day three of our Gocek Sailing Itinerary the route heads southward into the open Mediterranean Sea and towards Ekincik Limani. Ekincik Limani has a wood-lined shore backed by mountains and a pleasant traditional village. The quiet and peaceful village is a great place to explore and the nearby hot springs, thermal baths and Turkish baths provide the ultimate relaxation day on our Gocek Sailing Itinerary.
Anchorage is available offshore.
Recommended Activities: ย Thermal Baths, Hot Springs, Hiking, Swimming, Turkish Baths and exploring ancient ruins.
Day 4
Ekincik Limani โ Fethiye 33NM
Day four of our Gocek Sailing Itinerary takes the route east towards the historic town of Fethiye. Fethiye has lots of things to do and places to explore, with a traditional Turkish Bazaar, where you can purchase gifts, as well as ancient ruins.
Recommended Activities: Turkish Bazaar,ย restaurants, bars, Roman Amphitheater, a sarcophagusย sculpted in ornate designs, the remains of Telmessian and Romanย cities.

The Ideal Area for Every Level of Sailing Experience
Day 5
Fethiye โ Bestas Limani 14NM
From Fethiye the itinerary heads back south passing by Gemiler Limani which has Byzantine ruins and mosaics along with fresh water springs to relax in. There is also the deserted village of Kayakoy (Greek) and then Bestas Limani. Bestas Limani is an idea place to drop anchor, go swimming, rock diving and hiking.
Overnight anchorages are available close to the village.
Recommended Activities: Swimming, Diving, Rock Diving, Hiking, Exploring the Ruins and visiting the Hot Springs.
Day 6
Bestas Limani โ Tomb Bay 19NM
Day 6 brings the 19NM west to Tomb Bay and the archipelago of Pine, with its rocky shores, studded islands and rolling hills. The island has caves and inlets to swim and snorkel in and explore. You can also take a 30 minute walk to the ancient ruins of Lydae, a town built in the 4th century BC. Lycian tombs and Tomb Bay contain tombs caved into the hillside.
Overnight anchorages are available in the bay.
Recommended Activities: Restaurants and Bars, Crya and Carian Ruins, Roman and Byzantine baths, swimming, snorkeling and hiking.
Day 7
Tomb Bay โ Gocek 6NM
The final day of our Gocek Sailing Itinerary begins in Tomb Bay and heads back to the starting point in Gocek, sailing north past the beautiful islands and along the coastline, before taking a mooring back in the harbor. Gocek is a living place to explore with high class marina facilities and surrounding restaurants and bars.
