Our Story
It all began with a simple desire to demystify and streamline the yacht chartering booking experience. SailChecker was founded by regular charterers Chris and Joanne Lait more than a decade ago. In a fragmented market with 1000s of Fleet Operators, small and large, corporate to family-run, renting 23,000 boats and cabins across 350+ destinations, navigating a journey to the perfect charter was often a matter of more luck than judgment.
Our Founders sought to offer something better — honest, informed, tailored charter advice; what we call The Art of Charter.
Unique Approach
Given yachts are not on the market long enough to build reliable individual reputations, the predominant market solution of a filtered search engine was simply inadequate. The Founders set about forming a team, the SailChecker Crew, who regularly met with operators, and who had intimate knowledge and understanding of the market to dispense proper informed advice.
