You are on passage along this coast in a 12 m yacht. May you use the inshore traffic zone, or must you join the traffic lane?

You may use it: vessels under 20 m, sailing vessels and vessels fishing are allowed to. Rule 10(d) keeps through traffic that can safely use the lane out of the inshore traffic zone, but makes an exception for vessels of less than 20 metres, sailing vessels and vessels engaged in fishing. Any vessel may also use the zone to reach a port or other place inside it, or to avoid immediate danger.
