518 kHz. International NAVTEX is broadcast in English on 518 kHz and gives navigational warnings, gale warnings, forecasts and search and rescue information, typically out to about 300 miles from the station. 490 kHz carries national services, often in the local language. 2182 kHz is the MF voice distress frequency and 156.8 MHz is VHF channel 16.
