A gale warning says the gale is expected "soon". Which band on this timeline is that?
A timeline of the hours after a gale warning is issued, split into three bands. Band A runs from 0 to 6 hours, band B from 6 to 12 hours, and band C from 12 hours onwards.
Show the answer
B: 6 to 12 hours after the time of issue. In Met Office marine forecasts "imminent" means within 6 hours of the time of issue, "soon" means 6 to 12 hours, and "later" means more than 12 hours. The clock starts when the warning was issued, not when you hear it.
