Two motor boats are crossing. Which must give way?
Seen from above, north at the top. A is a motor boat, lower left of the picture, heading north. B is a motor boat, upper right of the picture, heading west.
Show the answer
Boat A, because B is on her starboard side. When two power-driven vessels cross, the one with the other on her starboard side gives way. A sees B on her right, so A keeps clear, ideally by passing astern of B.
