You are a small yacht under sail in a traffic lane, and a ship is coming along it. What does Rule 10 require of you?
Seen from above: two traffic lanes with a separation zone between them. Traffic in the upper lane runs right to left, in the lower lane left to right. A ship in the lower lane heading right, with a small yacht ahead of her in the same lane.

You must not impede the ship as she follows the lane. A sailing vessel, or any vessel under 20 metres, must not impede a power-driven vessel following a traffic lane: act early so she never has to change course for you. If a risk of collision does develop, the ship still has her own duties to avoid it.
