The 'cruiser' character is further emphasized by the very comfortable furling mainsail and electric winches, to make life easier for her guests.
The boat has been set up with every possible comfort, so you will also find: air conditioning, 9 kW generator, inverter, 100 lt/h watermaker and all 3 bathrooms with electric toilets.

LIVING AREAS

The dinette has standard equipment and up to 10 people can sit and eat there. 2 other people can also enjoy the large sofa at the entrance as a support for the Captain's station. The kitchen is really large: 3 burners, 1 large sink, a small one, a freezer, a refrigerator, an oven and a very useful microwave oven.
The 4 double bedrooms are all spacious, plus one with bunk beds and another single with its own private bathroom. 3 Large toilets with electric toilets and shower and all cabins with fans and air conditioning complete this modern boat, suitable for having a lot of fun at a low cost for large families or large groups of friends.

OUTDOOR AREAS

The cockpit is very large, thanks to the maximum beam almost at the stern and combines perfectly with the folding transom, making the water access area a real huge added balcony.

SailChecker Expert View

Perfect for groups The Liberty is a brilliant choice if you're chartering with a larger crew, those 6 cabins and 12 berths mean families or friends can spread out comfortably without feeling cramped. A 2023 Oceanis 51.1 is also a solid, well-proven platform that's intuitive to sail even if experience levels vary across your group.

Well-equipped modern cruiser This boat ticks all the boxes for comfortable cruising: air conditioning, a water maker, generator, and a swimming platform make longer passages genuinely pleasant rather than a roughing-it experience. The bow thruster and autopilot are genuine convenience features that reduce fatigue, especially handy when you're managing a larger crew.

Reasonable value proposition For a nearly-new 51-footer with six cabins and this spec level, the pricing sits fairly in the market, you're paying for quality build and modern systems, not inflated brand premium. The €3,000 deposit is standard and reassuring.

One realistic note Six cabins on a 51-metre yacht means some of the aft cabins will be compact, so if your group includes people who need generous sleeping quarters or privacy, you'll want to confirm the exact layout with Helm Yachting before committing. Also, you'll want to confirm the charter base location, that's not listed here, so factor in your travel logistics for flights and transfers once you know where you're sailing from.

The marina & destination

Based at Capo d'Orlando Marina, in Capo d'Orlando, Italy. LIBERY is operated by Helm Yachting.

Contrada S. Gregorio

Why this is a great starting point

Capo d'Orlando Marina sits on Sicily's north coast, offering immediate access to the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Aeolian Islands; week one typically involves motor-sailing or light reaching to Lipari, Vulcano, and Salina, with the prevailing northwesterlies allowing comfortable passages of 15-25 nautical miles between anchorages. The marina provides a practical base for exploring protected anchorages around Panarea and Stromboli before returning westward along the Sicilian coast toward the Cefalù area, giving you a mix of overnight anchorages, small harbors, and volcanic scenery without long open-water passages.

Frequently asked questions
Can LIBERY be rented with or without a skipper?
You can charter LIBERY bareboat (you skipper) if you hold the relevant sailing licence, or hire a professional skipper alongside the yacht. The choice is yours when you request the quote.
What sailing licence do I need to charter LIBERY?
Bareboat charter typically requires a recognised sailing licence (RYA Day Skipper, ICC, ASA, or equivalent) plus a VHF radio licence. The exact requirements depend on the country of charter — we confirm with the operator when you enquire.
What's included in the charter price?
The charter fee covers the yacht, standard equipment, and insurance for the dates booked. Tourist tax, transit log (final cleaning + bed linen), fuel, food, marina fees during the trip, and any optional extras (skipper, paddle board, etc.) are normally extra and paid at the base.
What additional costs should I expect at the base?
Typical mandatory extras are the transit log (often €200–€350), tourist tax (a small per-person-per-day fee), and a refundable security deposit (often €1,500–€5,000 depending on the yacht). Optional extras like a skipper, hostess, paddle board, or early check-in are listed on the quote.
How does the security deposit work?
The deposit is held by the operator at check-in (usually card pre-authorisation) and refunded after check-out if the yacht is returned without damage. Many operators offer a deposit-waiver insurance product that reduces the held amount in exchange for a smaller non-refundable premium.
Can I cancel my charter booking?
Cancellation terms vary by operator. Most allow cancellation with a full refund if requested more than 60–90 days before the start date, with progressive penalties closer to departure. Some operators offer a flexible-cancellation insurance product when you book.
Is the yacht insured?
Yes — every yacht is insured by the operator against damage and third-party liability. The insurance covers the yacht itself; personal effects and trip cancellation are not covered and are worth insuring separately.
What documents do I need to bring?
You'll need your passport, sailing licence (if chartering bareboat), VHF radio licence, and proof of payment. The operator will send a check-in form ahead of time covering crew details and any special requests.
What payment methods are accepted?
Charter fees are normally paid by bank transfer in advance (often a 50% deposit at booking, balance 30 days before charter). On-base extras are usually paid by card or in cash.
