What you'll pay

Charter pricing is famously opaque. Here's everything the operator will charge — mandatory items paid at the base, plus optional add-ons you can opt into.

About this yacht
A Perfect Balance of Seamanship & Culinary Art

Step aboard and experience the perfect harmony of expert navigation and exceptional cuisine. Captain Karlo and hostess Sara combine a lifetime love of the sea with a passion for creating unforgettable charter experiences.

CAPTAIN KARLO

Born on the sea and raised among the islands, Karlo stepped onto a boat for the first time at just five years old — and from that moment, the ocean became his home. Growing up surrounded by island life, he developed an instinctive understanding of navigation, weather patterns, and the rhythm of the sea.

With decades of maritime experience, Karlo has sailed extensively to some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations, including the Croatian coast and islands, as well as the Leeward and Windward Islands. He and Sara also spent a year working in St. Martin, gaining valuable experience in one of the Caribbean’s most vibrant and dynamic yachting hubs. Most recently, he served as Captain aboard the 5800 Leopard in the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

Known for his calm leadership and unwavering commitment to safety, Captain Karlo ensures every voyage is seamless and secure. Highly experienced in technical boat maintenance, he keeps his vessel in impeccable condition, providing guests with complete peace of mind. Whether island-hopping through turquoise bays or embarking on adventurous passages under sail, he delivers journeys defined by confidence, comfort, and precision.

HOSTESS SARA

Born and raised in Croatia on the island of Brač (Bol – symbol of the Adriatic), Sara discovered her passion for cooking at an early age while preparing traditional recipes alongside her grandmother. Her deep connection to the sea and island lifestyle continues to inspire her culinary creations.

After completing her studies in Maritime Engineering and Information Technology, she entered the yachting industry in 2021, where she quickly realized that sailing and gastronomy were the perfect combination. Alongside Captain Karlo, she spent a year working in St. Martin before continuing her Caribbean journey in the British Virgin Islands, where she most recently worked aboard the 5800 Leopard.

Sara personalizes each menu to suit her guests, using the freshest ingredients available and blending Mediterranean tradition with modern creativity — a style she describes as “when old meets modern.” Her repertoire includes vegan and vegetarian cuisine, fresh seafood, and refined Mediterranean dishes. Guests especially rave about her famous Monkfish Risotto and her unforgettable “chocolate miracle.”

Fluent in four languages, Sara connects effortlessly with guests from around the world, ensuring everyone feels welcome and at home.

The Experience

Together, Captain Karlo and Chef Sara offer more than a charter — they create an atmosphere of warmth, professionalism, and adventure. With experience spanning Croatia, St. Martin, and the British Virgin Islands, they bring international expertise and island spirit to every voyage.

From tranquil anchorages and vibrant Caribbean harbors to gourmet dinners under the stars and exhilarating sails across crystal-clear waters, this dedicated duo promises a vacation filled with comfort, flavor, and unforgettable mem

Perfect for larger groups. The Lagoon 55 catamaran sleeps up to 10 across five cabins, making it ideal for families or friends wanting to charter together without splitting boats. The 2023 build year means everything is current and reliable.

Comfort-focused design. Teak throughout, air conditioning, a water maker, generator, and a full galley with dishwasher and ice maker mean you won't feel roughed out at sea. The cockpit barbecue, bimini, and sprayhood turn lounging into the real holiday, this is a floating resort, not a spartan racer.

Excellent value proposition. Zero deposit required is genuinely unusual and makes booking friction-free, especially for international charterers arranging finances across time zones. A 2023 catamaran of this size and spec typically commands premium rates, so the lack of deposit softens the overall commitment.

One realistic note: With only one operator review (albeit five stars), we'd recommend asking Adriatic Sailing directly about recent guest feedback and service track record before committing. Modern gear and newness are only half the story, how the crew handles logistics matters when you're flying in from overseas.

The marina & destination

Based at Marina Kaštela, in Kaštel Gomilica, Croatia. TRIWING CARIDA is operated by Adriatic Sailing.

Why this is a great starting point

Marina Kaštela sits within the Kaštela Bay system near Split, giving you immediate access to the central Dalmatian islands and the Adriatic's most protected cruising grounds. Week one typically involves exploring nearby Brač, Hvar, and Vis, with steady northwesterly winds ideal for sailing south toward the Pakleni Islands and Vis's excellent anchorages. The marina's proximity to Split airport and good shelter make it a practical base for longer-range cruising toward Korčula or Lastovo if conditions allow.

Frequently asked questions
Can TRIWING CARIDA be rented with or without a skipper?
You can charter TRIWING CARIDA bareboat (you skipper) if you hold the relevant sailing licence, or hire a professional skipper alongside the yacht. The choice is yours when you request the quote.
What sailing licence do I need to charter TRIWING CARIDA?
Bareboat charter typically requires a recognised sailing licence (RYA Day Skipper, ICC, ASA, or equivalent) plus a VHF radio licence. The exact requirements depend on the country of charter — we confirm with the operator when you enquire.
What's included in the charter price?
The charter fee covers the yacht, standard equipment, and insurance for the dates booked. Tourist tax, transit log (final cleaning + bed linen), fuel, food, marina fees during the trip, and any optional extras (skipper, paddle board, etc.) are normally extra and paid at the base.
What additional costs should I expect at the base?
Typical mandatory extras are the transit log (often €200–€350), tourist tax (a small per-person-per-day fee), and a refundable security deposit (often €1,500–€5,000 depending on the yacht). Optional extras like a skipper, hostess, paddle board, or early check-in are listed on the quote.
How does the security deposit work?
The deposit is held by the operator at check-in (usually card pre-authorisation) and refunded after check-out if the yacht is returned without damage. Many operators offer a deposit-waiver insurance product that reduces the held amount in exchange for a smaller non-refundable premium.
Can I cancel my charter booking?
Cancellation terms vary by operator. Most allow cancellation with a full refund if requested more than 60–90 days before the start date, with progressive penalties closer to departure. Some operators offer a flexible-cancellation insurance product when you book.
Is the yacht insured?
Yes — every yacht is insured by the operator against damage and third-party liability. The insurance covers the yacht itself; personal effects and trip cancellation are not covered and are worth insuring separately.
What documents do I need to bring?
You'll need your passport, sailing licence (if chartering bareboat), VHF radio licence, and proof of payment. The operator will send a check-in form ahead of time covering crew details and any special requests.
What payment methods are accepted?
Charter fees are normally paid by bank transfer in advance (often a 50% deposit at booking, balance 30 days before charter). On-base extras are usually paid by card or in cash.
