About this yacht
'Sailing into Silence'

'Rosa dei Venti' ('Wind Rose' in English) has been uniquely designed to operate most of the time by using renewable resources and clean energy. It's an eco-friendly boat.
It is energy-wise self-sufficient without using noisy and non-eco-friendly diesel generators. Sailors will enjoy the magic of silence, which only such a purist sail boat can offer, without sacrificing anything of the amenities and comforts at sea.

Away from harbor, the boat uses solar energy and large batteries to power all the domestic electric appliances, such as coffee machine, microwave, ice maker, tv, dvd etc. It can produce its own water using the water maker, thus eliminating the need for reaching harbors for water supply. Four large refrigerators/freezers can provide sufficient capacity for many days and even the air/cons can be periodically operated with the batteries. Operating as a modern hybrid system, in case where additional energy is required, egg running the air/cons throughout the night at anchor, we have install using recording studio technics in order to achieve the best possible sound insulation, a backup generator that kicks-in automatically in order to provide the necessary energy to the batteries and shutoff also automatically when the batteries are full.

Attention to detail has been paid in every aspect in order to support the safety and easiness of operation at anchor. There is an oversized anchoring system, which can provide maximum safety when anchoring. In addition, the boat is equipped with a large dinghy carrying 30hp outboard, capable of covering longer distances easily when anchoring off-harbor and can also be used for watersports which is very rare for a catamaran of this size.

When it's time for relaxation, there are large and comfortable mattresses at the front, the roof-top and the rear of the boat. Dimmable cockpit lights and underwater lights create a romantic atmosphere at night.

'Rosa dei Venti' brings a new level of comfort and innovative eco-friendly solutions to the sailing experience, making your holidays truly memorable.

THE MOST TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED AND EQUIPPED LAGOON 42 IN GREECE
SailChecker Expert View

Ideal for families Rosa dei Venti is a brilliant choice for groups of 4, 8 people seeking comfort without compromise. The 2021 Lagoon 42 catamaran offers stability, space, and modern conveniences that appeal to families, friends, or mixed-age crews who want to relax as much as they want to sail.

Standout comfort features This boat punches above its weight with air conditioning, a water maker, and a generator, luxuries that matter on longer charters or in warm climates. The solar panels and inverter keep systems efficient, while Wi-Fi keeps you connected, and the snorkeling gear plus SUP board add variety to your itinerary without extra rental costs.

Strong value proposition A zero deposit is genuinely unusual and removes friction for international charterers flying in from the US or Europe. For a well-equipped 2021 cat with four cabins and all these systems, the economics are sound, you're paying for a relatively new, self-sufficient vessel.

One practical note The listing doesn't specify the charter base location, which matters significantly for flight times and logistics from your home airport. Once you confirm the base, you'll know whether it's a convenient connection or a longer journey, that detail shapes the whole trip.

The marina & destination

Based at Paros port, in Paros, Greece. Rosa dei Venti is operated by Dream Sailing.

Why this is a great starting point

Paros port offers excellent access to the central Cyclades, with the nearby islands of Naxos, Antiparos, and Delos reachable within a few hours of sailing. Week one typically involves relaxed beam reaches between these islands; you'll have reliable northerly winds and sheltered anchorages at Naoussa, Drios, and around Antiparos. The port itself has good provisioning and repair facilities, making it a practical base before heading south towards Ios and Santorini or north towards Mykonos.

Frequently asked questions
Can Rosa dei Venti be rented with or without a skipper?
You can charter Rosa dei Venti bareboat (you skipper) if you hold the relevant sailing licence, or hire a professional skipper alongside the yacht. The choice is yours when you request the quote.
What sailing licence do I need to charter Rosa dei Venti?
Bareboat charter typically requires a recognised sailing licence (RYA Day Skipper, ICC, ASA, or equivalent) plus a VHF radio licence. The exact requirements depend on the country of charter — we confirm with the operator when you enquire.
What's included in the charter price?
The charter fee covers the yacht, standard equipment, and insurance for the dates booked. Tourist tax, transit log (final cleaning + bed linen), fuel, food, marina fees during the trip, and any optional extras (skipper, paddle board, etc.) are normally extra and paid at the base.
What additional costs should I expect at the base?
Typical mandatory extras are the transit log (often €200–€350), tourist tax (a small per-person-per-day fee), and a refundable security deposit (often €1,500–€5,000 depending on the yacht). Optional extras like a skipper, hostess, paddle board, or early check-in are listed on the quote.
How does the security deposit work?
The deposit is held by the operator at check-in (usually card pre-authorisation) and refunded after check-out if the yacht is returned without damage. Many operators offer a deposit-waiver insurance product that reduces the held amount in exchange for a smaller non-refundable premium.
Can I cancel my charter booking?
Cancellation terms vary by operator. Most allow cancellation with a full refund if requested more than 60–90 days before the start date, with progressive penalties closer to departure. Some operators offer a flexible-cancellation insurance product when you book.
Is the yacht insured?
Yes — every yacht is insured by the operator against damage and third-party liability. The insurance covers the yacht itself; personal effects and trip cancellation are not covered and are worth insuring separately.
What documents do I need to bring?
You'll need your passport, sailing licence (if chartering bareboat), VHF radio licence, and proof of payment. The operator will send a check-in form ahead of time covering crew details and any special requests.
What payment methods are accepted?
Charter fees are normally paid by bank transfer in advance (often a 50% deposit at booking, balance 30 days before charter). On-base extras are usually paid by card or in cash.
