The Hidden Costs of Charter
Mandatory extras that get added to the advertised price · Bareboat, 2020+ builds
Base Price vs Obligatory Extras
The price you see is not the price you pay. Mandatory extras (end cleaning, transit log, linen, outboard) vary hugely by country.
What does this mean for you?
When comparing charter quotes, always ask for the total price including mandatory extras. A boat advertised at EUR 5,400 in Greece becomes EUR 6,368 after mandatory add-ons — nearly EUR 1,000 more than the listing price. Caribbean charters have the lowest extras markup at just 8%, making their listed prices the most transparent.
Beta — Obligatory extras from MMK Booking Manager API. These are fees the operator marks as mandatory — you cannot opt out. Optional extras (SUP boards, WiFi, extra dinghy) are not included. Refreshed weekly.
