Phuket is the main region for yacht charter Thailand, due to the wide range of available yachts and the stunning scenery to explore. Phuket is an island province of Thailand connected to the mainland by the Sarasin Bridge in the north. Phuket island is the main island, but there are 32 islands more to explore by sailing. From May/July to October, there are tropical rains in the area, however, sailors visit the area at any time of the year. Temperatures range from 25C to 32C (77F to 90F). If you prefer long sandy beaches, you should definitely try the West Coast of this mountainous island as the east ones are frequently muddy.
Phang Nga Bay
Phang Nga Bay - Emerald green waters with limestone karsts that jut out of the water will take your breath away here. Koh Panyee and James Bond Island are two very famous islands you should definitely visit if you decide to sail in this bay. The James Bond Island has become famous after being featured in the 1974 James Bond movie, ‘Man With the Golden Gun’. There are many tourist boat trips that take place there, so it can get a little crowded. Koh Panyee is a truly remarkable village built entirely on poles in the shallow waters with an enormous rock monolith behind for shelter. You will find great restaurants with fresh fish, caught by the locals.
Krabi is believed to be one of the oldest communities in Thailand, dating from the prehistoric period. The most famous attractions in the area are the Khao Khanap Nam Caves, which can be accessed by boat, the Tham Sadet Cave, where you can see marvellous stalactite and stalagmite formations, and the Khao Phanom Bencha National Park, which covers a total area of 50sq. km and it's filled with thick forests, streams, waterfalls, and wild animals. Krabi is, also, known for its several hot springs, which can be found either in the city centre or in the shady forest area. Amazing sea and mountain scenery await you along with beaches and coral-fringed islands to explore with excellent snorkelling and diving opportunities. The two stunning beaches of Ao Nang and Hat Rai Le have restaurants and shops where you can stop for a while and restock provisions if required.
Phi Phi is located an equal distance of around 40km from both Krabi and Phuket. Made up of six small and large isles, the main features are sheer limestone cliffs and rocks. You will also find many gorgeous beaches and coral reefs. We recommend that you try diving in this area, as all the 6 isles are known for their beautiful marine nature. Ko Phi Phi Le is blessed with scenic bays, such as Ao Pi Le and Ao Maya, whilst you will also be able to admire the "Naga Serpent Cave" (or Tham Phaya Nak), with the stone which resembles a mythical creature. The cave is considered sacred to locals and it can be accessed by boat. Thailand offers one of the most beautiful and diverse sailing opportunities of all the yacht charter destinations.
