Island Hopping, Partying and Sailing… but where do you shop in the BVI!
One Idea is Soper’s hole, with it’s boutiques and stunning setting. This is what Charter Girl thinks.
Whether you are travelling by land or island hopping by boat across the Caribbean, there’s no doubt that you will truly enjoy all different picturesque and wonderful places in the British Virgin Islands. When visiting in BVI, you will not only love the fun and adventure that comes with it, but also the places that make your vacation worth remembering. Of course the fun wouldn’t be complete without fine dining and shopping experience. With that, you shouldn’t miss out spending time in the West End, Tortola. Tortola is the largest and most populated islet known for its quaint aura, clean and seamless anchorage. The island also showcases a wide array of goods and services for people’s convenience. In the west end part of Tortola is a marina called, Soper’s Hole. Anyone can come and enjoy the services and all facilities therein to accommodate shopping, dining, and other essential activities that Soper’s Hole is offering. The marina can accommodate yachts up to 180 feet in length and is the perfect spot for relaxation. With all the brightly-coloured restaurants and shops onshore, you will surely have fun under a tropical summer heat.
A BVI Yacht Charter experience will surely be twice as memorable if you visit the marina. To name a few shops that are worthy for your penny, you gotta see Latitude 18, Pusser’s Store, Arawak Surf, Bon Marche, Culture Classic and Zenaida. These are all clothing shops that you might wanna check out. For your sweet indulgence, there is Al Martin Ice Cream and Suny Carribbee Spice Company, which serve desserts and sweets. Hungry for some sirloin burgers, homemade pizza, fish and chips, dinner pies and draft beer? Try Pusser’s Restaurant.
For a one stop shop, visit the famous Harbour Market as it offers gourmet food and drinks, as well as Caribbean arts and crafts and other merchandise. Have a taste of the famous prime ribs and anegada lobster at The Jolly Roger Restaurant and Bar, or try Tortola’s local specialties at Pisces (Rita’s). But, what if you want to relax over a cup of coffee? Well, D Best Cup serves hot and cold espresso-based drinks in minutes!
Shop till you drop! (Then have a massage)
Once you get tired over a day’s worth of sailing and shopping, you may also choose from a wide range of available accommodations. There are car rentals for local transportation needs, internet cafés, public phones, ATM machines, and taxi services that are accessible anytime. Soper’s Hole is also a refuelling station for water vessels. So, whether you are looking forward to a breezy afternoon walk or a fun-filled nightlife, this is the place to be. Anything you want and everything you need while tucked in a pleasurable escapade in the BVI is here in the tropical “gunkhole”- Soper’s Hole, the West End.
